Full Description
The AD&D 2E Custom Item Importer is a powerful tool for Dungeon Masters and content creators who want to rapidly populate their Items list in Fantasy Grounds without manually entering data for each individual item. This extension supports two distinct import methods to accommodate different workflows and data formats:
Available Import Methods
-
Delimiter-Based Import (Classic Mode)
-
Accessed by clicking the Import button in the Items window
-
Use one line per item, separating fields with double-spaces
-
Format:
Name (double-space) Cost (double-space) Weight (double-space) Description (double-space) DM Only -
Only these fields are supported in this mode
-
All fields are optional except for Name
-
Use this method for fast input from spreadsheets or formatted plaintext
-
List-Based Import (Advanced Mode)
-
Accessed by clicking the Import List button in the Items window
-
Paste in multi-line item blocks using Field: style labels
-
Each item must begin with Name:
-
Supported fields include:
Name, Unidentified, Non-ID Notes
Type, Subtype (uses the same list as Type)
Rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare, Unique, Other, or left blank
Cost, EXP, Weight, Base AC, Modifier, Properties, Description, DM Only (stored as formatted text) -
Fields can be in any order and are not required
-
If Type is left blank, the Subtype will be used to determine extra fields
Supported 2E Item Types
This importer dynamically supports all standard 2E item types:
Armor, Shield, Weapon, Potion, Scroll, Ring, Robe, Cloak, Wand, Staff, Rod
Gear, Tool, Container, Provisions, Ammunition, Alchemical, Gem, Jewelry
Transport, Animal, Magic, Art, Herb or Spice, Service, Daily Food and Lodging

Each Type (or fallback Subtype) automatically determines whether special fields like Base AC, Modifier, or Properties are added.
