Lobsterfolk

Lobsterfolk is a monster supplement for 5e that presents a coastal crustacean people built around armored durability, territorial defense, and crushing melee combat. Rather than fragile aquatic creatures or magical sea dwellers, lobsterfolk are heavily protected shoreline warriors who dominate confined spaces such as reefs, tidal caverns, and submerged fortifications.

The intent of this product is mechanical clarity and encounter variety without CR inflation. The ladder progresses from hatchling through increasingly hardened battlefield roles, culminating in ancient territorial guardians capable of controlling choke points and grappling powerful enemies. Lobsterfolk encounters emphasize positional control, powerful claws, and relentless durability rather than speed or spellcasting.

Cultural lore and social structure are intentionally minimal. Lobsterfolk may be reef guardians, territorial coastal clans, or disciplined underwater defenders depending on the needs of the campaign. Use these stat blocks as encounter tools. Whether they are protectors of the sea or aggressive shoreline conquerors is yours to decide.

Lobsterfolk Roster

Lobsterfolk Hatchling (CR 0): Recently molted young still learning to control oversized claws. Curious and skittish but already protected by a developing shell.

Lobsterfolk Gatherer (CR 1/4): Reef forager who collects shellfish and coastal resources while defending territory when threatened.

Lobsterfolk Claw Warrior (CR 1): Front-line fighter with hardened shell armor and powerful crushing claws used to grapple and control enemies.

Lobsterfolk Tide Guard (CR 3): Disciplined territorial defender who protects reef entrances and tidal caverns using reach weapons and positional control.

Lobsterfolk Shell Champion (CR 5): Massive veteran warrior whose claws can crush armor and pin enemies in place during brutal close combat.

Lobsterfolk Deep Warden (CR 7): Ancient guardian of deep reefs and underwater strongholds whose scarred shell and overwhelming strength dominate confined battlefields.
