Description
Fungalfolk
Fungalfolk is a monster supplement for 5e that presents a highly intelligent species of mycelial beings who live in harmony with the natural world rather than dominating it. Instead of portraying mushroom creatures as strange monsters or mindless fungal hazards, this book explores a thoughtful, adaptive lineage connected through living networks beneath soil, stone, and root.
The intent of this product is mechanical clarity and encounter versatility without excessive complexity. The ladder progresses from young spore-born beings to ancient mycelial authorities, representing the natural growth of wisdom, influence, and ecological power within fungal societies. Fungalfolk rely on regeneration, shared awareness through living terrain, and subtle environmental control rather than direct aggression.
Cultural history and rigid political structures are intentionally minimal. Fungalfolk do not expand through conquest or empire. They grow where ecosystems allow them to thrive, forming patient communities that defend their groves only when necessary. Use these stat blocks as tools. Whether the fungalfolk are peaceful stewards, mysterious forest neighbors, or ancient guardians of forgotten wild places is for the GM to decide.
