Description

Waspfolk

Waspfolk is a monster supplement for 5e that presents a single-minded expansionist species driven entirely by nest instinct and territorial dominance. Instead of portraying insectoid creatures as merely exotic humanoids, this book explores a biologically alien predator society built on resin nests, collective awareness, and lethal venom.

The intent of this product is mechanical clarity and encounter impact without unnecessary complexity. The ladder progresses from hatchling to queen, representing the escalating defensive and offensive roles within a resin nest hierarchy. Individually, Waspfolk are impulsive and low in independent reasoning. Within the influence of their nest and brood leaders, however, they become coordinated, deadly hunters capable of overwhelming intruders with speed and venom.

Cultural lore and long histories are intentionally minimal. Waspfolk are not diplomats, traders, or empire builders. They expand because instinct demands expansion. They attack because territory must be defended. Use these stat blocks as tools. Whether the nest is newly formed, ancient and sprawling, or an invasive threat to a settled region is for the GM to decide.

Waspfolk Roster

Waspfolk Hatchling (CR 0): Newly emerged brood defender driven entirely by instinct and territorial aggression.

Waspfolk Hunter (CR 1): Primary aerial predator specializing in rapid dive attacks and venomous stings.

Waspfolk Venom Guard (CR 3): Heavily built nest defender whose potent venom weakens and immobilizes intruders.

Waspfolk Sky Ravager (CR 6): High-speed aerial executioner capable of devastating burst damage during dive assaults.

Waspfolk Brood Tyrant (CR 8): Dominant nest enforcer coordinating nearby waspfolk through instinctive hive aggression.

Waspfolk Sun Queen (CR 10): Resin-nest sovereign whose presence amplifies venom potency and brood coordination.
