Core Purpose Standard 5E resting makes resource attrition feel meaningless once the party can find safety. GRR fixes that by overhauling short and long rest mechanics with configurable durations, optional Constitution-based Hit Dice recovery, fractional HP healing, and per-creature-type scope controls. It creates real cost and risk around recovery without breaking core 5E systems.

Key Features

• Flexible Rest Durations (independent, take effect immediately):
  • Short Rest: 1 hour (RAW), 4 hours, or 8 hours
  • Long Rest: 8 hours (RAW), 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days
• Hit Dice Recovery Save (enabled by default): On long rest, roll a CON save (d20 + CON mod + proficiency if applicable). Success/Failure determines how many of your total Hit Dice you recover (e.g., Pass = Half, Fail = Quarter). Results post clearly to chat. No HD spent? Check is skipped. Largest dice returned first.
• Fractional HP Recovery on long rest: Full (RAW), Three-Quarters, Half, or Quarter of max HP.
• Scope Controls: Independently enable/disable for Player Characters, NPCs (charsheet companions/hirelings), and Monsters (Combat Tracker statblocks).
• Location System Integration (optional but powerful): Works with Steadfast5e - Location System to apply harsher recovery rules based on current environment tier (Urban / Rural / Wilderness / Dungeon) without changing global settings.

• Wraps GameManager.onActorRest (non-destructive) — compatible with other rest-modifying extensions.
• Supports D&D 5E 2014 (Legacy) and 2024 rulesets.
