Description

Core Purpose Replaces the largely unused Weapon tab on Kit records (Warrior Kits / Backgrounds) with a clean Parcels tab. Kit creators simply drag Treasure Parcel library records onto the Kit. Applying the Kit to a character automatically unpacks every linked Parcel — granting all items and coin — using the exact same reliable CoreRPG parcel system that powers NPCs, the Party Sheet, and standard treasure distribution.

Key Features & Workflow

  • Drag-and-drop Treasure Parcels directly onto a Kit (drag the same parcel multiple times for duplicates — simple and intentional).
  • One-click preview icons on each linked parcel row show a clean read-only summary of contents (coin + items).
  • When the Kit is applied to a character via the standard Background/Kit mechanic, all linked parcels expand automatically onto the character’s inventory and treasure — identical to how FGU handles parcels everywhere else.
  • Deletable rows for easy editing.

This approach is far more stable and maintainable than trying to embed full inventories directly on Kits. It leverages battle-tested parcel handling while keeping Kit design fast and flexible.

Perfect For

  • 2E campaigns that make heavy use of Kits and Backgrounds for starting gear, class packages, or cultural bundles.
  • GMs who want consistent, repeatable treasure/gear distribution via official parcel tools.
  • Players and GMs who prefer quick, visual Kit setup without fighting inventory quirks.

Technical Notes

  • Non-destructive: Only affects the Kit/Background record window.
  • Uses CoreRPG’s ItemManager.handleParcel for unpacking — maximum compatibility.
  • Includes a custom preview window to work around FGU link/rendering limitations when viewing parcels from within a Kit.

Known Limitation (FGU engine): Tab replacement on reference_background requires rebuilding the full tab set. If another extension also heavily modifies Kit tabs, the one with higher load order wins. (Tested compatible with common companions like 2ePlayerOption.ext.)

Installation: Drop the 2e-kpi folder into your Fantasy Grounds Unity extensions/ directory and enable it in 2E campaigns.
