Description
Tired of the classic "18/xx" exceptional strength feeling like a one-off quirk? This lightweight extension brings that same granular, percentile-driven depth to every ability score (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma) from 1 to 25.
What It Does
- Extends the stock 2E percentile field (already present and editable on every character sheet) to create half-step brackets at every whole score: XX/01-50 and XX/51-00.
- All derived stats (hit/damage bonuses, weight allowance, system shock, resurrection survival, spell level limits, bonus spells, loyalty base, reaction adjustment, etc.) now interpolate smoothly between neighboring whole scores.
- Inspired by HackMaster 4E’s Table 1A/1B approach, but stays 100% faithful to official 2E table values — no new house rules, just finer resolution using data already in the ruleset.
Key Details
- Bracket Logic: Score × 2 minus 1, plus 1 if percentile 50. Maps cleanly to a 50-row internal table.
- Data Fidelity: Halfway rows are intelligently derived (floor-averaged where numeric; lower-value held for step-function bonuses like bonus spells or HP adjustments). Score 25’s upper bracket mirrors the lower one.
- Bug Fix Included: Corrects a known upstream typo in stock Charisma reaction adjustment at score 22 for smoother progression.
- Tables generated programmatically from the official data_common_adnd.lua tables to eliminate transcription errors.
Compatibility & Non-Intrusive Design
- Works only with the official 2E (AD&D 2nd Edition) ruleset.
- No stock files are modified — overrides the six getXProperties() functions via clean monkey-patching at onInit.
- Leaves the character sheet UI completely unchanged (percentile fields were already there).
- Reuses all existing stock logic for ability ranges, effects (BSTR/STR tags), sanity checks, and high-score tooltips.
- Note: Not compatible with other extensions that also override these same functions (last-loaded wins).
Installation
- Drop the 2e-fracstats folder into your Fantasy Grounds Unity extensions/ directory.
- Enable it when loading any 2E campaign.
Perfect for players and DMs who want more mechanical nuance and smoother character progression without changing the core feel or balance of AD&D 2E.
