The great moated mountain city of Vaatmery, its defensive works protected by river and springs, sits upon a series of terraces that sprawl down from the highlands to the green lands beyond. Here one may seek the wisdom of the Spring Sages, the winter borne ice plums, or a guide to see you safely into the cursed mountains beyond.

The Citadel of the Mountains lies at one end of the Upper City, the Trade Moot at the other. Below this terrace the city grows denser in population, people crowding together to find space, some space, to live and work. The upper terraces are the abode of nobles and merchants, wizards and crime lords, the rest are left to the crafts folk, tradesman, and at the lowest point, the poorest citizens who eke out a living in the twisting slum alleys.
