Description

If you are playing a Bard or DMing for one in your Fantasy Grounds Unity D&D game, you will probably appreciate this extension! It automates the various benefits of the Jack of All Trades feature granted to Bards at level 2, (Version 1.3 and higher: as well as the benefits of the Remarkable Athlete feature granted to Fighters (Champion subclass) at level 7,) and makes the Glibness spell (8th-level transmutation spell on the Bard/Warlock lists) function as you would expect it to. What does all that mean? I'm so glad you asked, allow me to elaborate!

What it does do:

Works with the Reliable Talent extension by Stv (from which I borrowed much of the code for this extension; thanks Stv!)

  • If you have the JoAT class feature, it adds half of your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to relevant skill checks (ignores skills in which you already have proficiency, expertise, or half-proficiency from another source), as well to initiative checks and ability checks
  • (Version 1.3 and higher:) If you have the Remarkable Athlete class feature (Fighter (Champion) level 7), it adds half of your proficiency bonus (rounded up) to relevant skill checks (ignores skills in which you already have proficiency, expertise, or half-proficiency from another source, only applies to STR/DEX/CON skills), as well to initiative checks and relevant ability checks (again, STR/DEX/CON).
  • (Version 1.4 and higher:) If a feature--JoAT, RA, or your own creation--adds half your proficiency to a roll, the extension displays in the chat window the name of the bonus that has been added, as well as displaying the numeric value of said bonus
  • Adds a button to the Glibness spell that adds the Glibness effect to your character (you may have to re-add the spell if it was already on your character sheet)
  • While you have the Glibness effect active (see above), it sets a floor of 15 for all Charisma-based ability/skill checks (fun fact: this includes the checks made for Counterspell and Dispel Magic if you are a Charisma caster!)
  • If Glibness triggers because your roll was lower than 15, than it displays in the chat window that Glibness has been used and what the value of the dropped roll was, similar to how Reliable Talent works in the previously mentioned extension
  • (Version 1.4.1 and higher:) Includes a README file detailing how to use the above effects in conjunction with custom skills.

What it doesn't do:

  • Bring snacks to your game table
  • Fix your chronic back pain
  • Guarantee that you'll seduce that dragon

Current version: 1.4.2 - Latest change was purely cosmetic (extension icon, organization of xml file) and shouldn't noticeably impact user experience.

I have thoroughly tested this (in FGU; I do not know if it would work in FGC), but please let me know if there are unexpected bugs! I hope this improves your D&D VTT experience :)

This extension is free, because it only modifies SRD material, but I accept donations (see link below) if that is something you're interested in doing :)

Risk Warning: Extensions are code that is added to or overrides portions of code in the Fantasy Grounds Unity (FGU) application, and when the underlying code in FGU changes, sometimes it will break extensions. When you run multiple extensions, they can conflict with each other by trying to overwrite the same parts of the FGU code. Using extensions comes with risk, no matter who or where they come from.

Don't forget to love each other :)
